Ingredients.. Where you can get them...

So, About the master of all cleanses..

I'm gonna do a step-by step post in the next one, but in this one I'm going to just talk about where to get these ingredients..

Seeing that I'm currently living in Malaysia, and some of the ingredients (especially to the average and typical Malaysian) may sound a little strange and you may not know where to get them..

No WORRIES!

I have found all the ingredients and no, it wasn't posted to me.. Actually went shop-hunting for them.. Surprisingly, (no actually, not really, Malaysia has been pretty good with the imported stuff lately.. seriously!)

I found them all! Well, except the lax-tea... (I'll explain later)

I bought my Maple Syrup, lemons and Cayenne Pepper from the Cold Storage branch at The Curve..

Pretty easy to find.
But, just in case, here's a guide to help you look for the stuff :)

Okay, first, grab a basket, you don't really need a cart but.. if you want, I'm not stopping ya!

Now, head to the fruits and vege arena.. Look for the yellow fruits called LEMONs (usually near oranges, grapefruits.. )

Now, I know they are sold as a bag of lemons and some go by pick your own.. I would honestly just grab a bag, xamine for weird stuff and if it's clear, I'll get them,, It's usually cos they're more uniform in size and easier to handle.. ! :) A neeted bag of lemons usually come in 6 and cost about 4-7 Ringgit, depending on season and where they're from.. So just use your instincts..

But if you do choose to pick-your-own, (not really much difference in prices but sometimes... a few cents do add up to a lot) remember to bring your own bag! (GO GREEN!!!)

Okay, next, head to (this one s a lil trickier) the baking/ sweet/breakfast aisle.. Different places 'hide' them in different places but usually if you look for pancake mixes, the maple syrup should be right beside or opposite them.. :)

Look for MAPLE SYRUP, and not MAPLE-flavoured SYRUP. HUGE difference..

The cheaper one is maple-flavoured syrup.. Don't let your kiamsap-syndrome take over.. This is important cos they are NOT the same thing..

Pure MAple Syrup, is always imported.. There are no maple trees in Malaysia. Sad, but true.
So you can't get a 'cheaper' local brand..

I know, many Malaysians will be like "WAH!! So expensive! Mahal gila! Ala, just take the cheapest one la... (takes the one priced less than RM10)

Sorry, but the average price of maple syrup (300-500mL) in Msia is RM22 and up. Mostly RM30-40.. depending on how much syrup..

Just use your finely tuned shopping sense, get the most reasonable one la.. Mine cost like RM 30 for Grade B pure organic maple syrup..

Next go to the spices aisle..

In Malaysia, spices are 'split' into two..
One, are all the local spices.. with the Chinese herbs, nasi goreng Maggi packet etc..
Look for the rack with all the nice looking bottles from the same company (usually all in one colour eg: green) and you'll find Cayenne Pepper amongst them.. (The price is about RM12-14 per bottle of spice)

Youre' almost done.. If you don't have measuring spoons at home, just go get a set from the household/baking ware aisle..(RM 2-5 only)
Okay, now for the salt. You should get UN-IONIZED SEA SALT. Celtic sea salt is the safest to get, since we don't have many choices in our supermarts (unless you go to an organic shop)

So just get a pack of the Celtic Sea Salt.. Fine or Course is fine.. You'll be using it for the salt-water flush.. (Price is about Rm11 to 16)

Okay you're pretty much done!

Go to the counter, and bayar* (pay) !

DONE.

Oh wait. Yeah, the lax-tea.. So far I have yet to find a laxative tea that isn't screaming SLIM SLIM SLIM.. =.=

But stick to Senna, a natural laxative.. I got Senokot tablets from a pharmacy..(most carry them) (Around RM 11 a box)
